ΑΡΓΟΣ - Railway Station

The Argos railway station is a neoclassical building from around 1900. It is a rectangular stone construction, with wood panelled arched windows and doors. It is one of the first examples of the industrial architecture of the new Greek state, which combines functionality and simplicity with interesting morphological elements. The station saw a lot of traffic until 1960, and was the hub for the transport of passengers and merchandise to the Peloponnese and large urban centres like Athens and the port of Piraeus.
