During Hellenistic times, during the 2nd century BC, a monumental pedistal measuring 3.65 by 2.10m was built to the north of the track (S). Its façade was on the narrow eastern side, while round the other three sides there were railings. Its position among other monuments and statues, as well as its construction would indicate that it was an important monument for the Argives.
In later ancient times, around the 3rd century AD, a small temple measuring 11.25 by 6.10m was built on its ruins. In design it resembled a small treasury building with an ante temple and cella, and a façade facing to the east. Inside the cella, the base of the idol that was worshipped here still survives. Unfortunately no evidence has survived to the present day, either in the form of an inscription or statue, which would help identify the deity that was worshipped.
